Intermittent TV probs locking to n-Vi signal ?

Hello - the AV part of my setup consists of a Pioneer 436SXE, 5m atlas HDMI cable to an n-Vi and Virgin V+ box via a Geffen HDMI switcher. Since redecorating and putting the system back together i've sometimes had trouble getting the plasma to lock to the n-Vi signal when playing a DVD. TV from the V+ box is fine. I did wonder whether i'd stressed the HDMI socket on the back of the TV and damaged the connector but the picture is superb and apart from occasional delays in locking up on the n-Vi all is well. Tonight i had to power the n-Vi off then on to get it to lock. Is there any additional handshaking between the TV and n-Vi that doesnt occur between the TV and V+ box ?

Sounds like a typical handshake glitch to me, though strange that it wasn't apparent before you put everything back together...?
Is everything the same ? From what I have read elsewhere, the whole HDMI thing CAN be really glitchy and problems thrown up by the oddest element - can even be a particular cable between two particular devices causing problems...Is the Atlas 1.3a ?
Sorry to be not much help.

No i've never updated the software. Problem seems to have gone again after i reworked the cable behind the TV to take some strain off the socket. Perhaps its time to do an update although the update seems more towards SPDIF latency - not something i've had issues with.

I would advise anybody to update to the latest firmware if they have issues with any software driven Naim equiptment. This should be standard practice as not only do the updates contain fixes, they also can add new functionality.
There are two flavours of the code. If you are not having issues with lip sync then the alternative code would be suggested instead.
