cheap mains cable tweak

i tried this and up to yet i am impressed 75 ohm coax pull out the centre core leave the braid and outer sheath intact slide over your mains wire to your amp cd player etc {this might mean chopping your plug }take braid and ground it in your wall socket plug with the earth wire. connect pos and neg as normal do not ground at equipment end you now have a very well shielded mains wire all that stray rf etc goes back to earth resulting in lower noise level and more dynamic sound, if you do not like the effect you can always remove it. thick coax at around £1.50 per metre give it a day or two to settle down. if you do have to chop the moulded plug use a good quality plug as a replacement.

I understand the improvement for RF is a very under appreciated cause of degradation of hi fi sounds period. Go one step better and invest in some Isotech mains cables, available from Hi-fi for sale.com they really are a cheap upgrade! Get 16amp for amps (£70 ish) and 10 amp (£50 ish) for your cd (yes the cheaper one for it sounds better!) player.

Any idea where you can buy Wattgate IEC plugs? I've made a few mains plugs but have only found cheap plastic IEC plugs. On the same note, anyone know of good quality fig.8 plugs?
Thanks in advance

I wonder if you allowed the cables time to burn in? I think not for that takes a couple of weeks at least. (new cables are like a new girl friend, ok but will improve with use).

Have you tried the Russ Andrews Kimber mains cables? I tried all sorts but found these made the biggest differance. I also use one of their old mains distribution blocks. Made a big differance to my set-up. Lost no dynamics or timing but gained in info delivery and seperation.
