My Trip to My Place - Voyage 34

Needless to say, I left the place completely pissed but incredibly fed up - Mrs Alex is certainly an appalling cook! I was forced to consume Nina Zabaliogne con vongole al fornicato, luckily all washed down with three barrels of Barolo.
As for the system, I can say that it has an awesome dissolving power that would make many from the M*** camp turn green from laughter - the woolly bass, and the sheer lack of detail on offer.
However, it wasn't really my cup of tea in every respect; I have heard my system before, and I'm therefore familiar with the type of sound that I like - cold and Greek sounding, whereas the presentation today was more lukewarm and Romanesque; so I trashed all my less-than-perfect recordings - which means I've only got one left.
I did say a few weeks back that I may well prefer the 300 amp equipment fuses and unfused plugs but that was before the entire system blew up - you could see the acrid pall of smoke from Wigan Pier.
I found the top end of my system in the Thames, and I felt that imaging and tune were the first casualties of this with many recordings. I did notice that the Supercap was positioned inside the 52, but I understand that regarding siting of equipment after such a conflagration, work is still in progress - and a spaceship between may help.
I am also certain that I haven't got a clue as to the type of sound I want to hear and that this isn't a sonic flavour that I would go for personally - we are in agreement on that particular score.
I should certainly be interested in hearing the system again following the reorganisation of equipment on a stand, once its been dredged from Deptford Creek, as well as an A/B demo of my one remaining CD and complete silence.
My cistern is still a monster, and is one of the most dynamic I have ever heard. I would just like it to sound a little sweeter to my own tastes.
Regards,
Alex.
