That's a proper unbiased review. I like the comments on every setting, player option etc. being audible. Indicates the HiFace is good enough to hear stuff I know exists. Being careful with his rips and sources couldn't have hurt. I'm surprised he didn't mention how Foobar doesn't library wav well at all. Easy enough to use for computer guys, I suppose. Interesting that he still slightly preferred his CEC transport with 16/44.

Not surprising. There are many sound deficiencies which please our ears.
For example, there are people who much prefer the super-soft presentation to the more natural "fast transient" rendering.
