AV2 and Dual Subs

Posted by: General Skanky on 22 October 2005

The AV2 has two sub out options.

RCA or the DIN with the centre channel out.

My question is this, can two subs be run, one from each output at the same time?

I'd expect that if so, they would receive identical signals etc.

The manual explains them as alternatives to each other.

I know I can always use a splitter on the RCA out, but I just thought I'd ask.

Anyone?

I'd like to know as it means making up/gettting the right cables to do dual subs.

Thanks.

They're exactly the same signal (just a resistor between them to offer a little isolation).
You could use an RCA splitter or have two different leads.

I'm hoping to get my hands on a 2nd Velodyne SPL 1000 MKII if possible.

The one dilema I have is simple.

I want big 15", belly wobbling drivers ticking over gently, but my wife wants petite but powerful subs like the spl.

I used to have a Velodyne CHT15 which made me physically sick when set too high. Eek But nice. I miss that. Two of those would be nice.

Sound like you need a Velodyne Signature 1812 then - an 18" driver for you and a mere twelve inches for the wife (so to speak).

Seriously though - two SPL1000s should be superb.

Matt.
