Clearaudio Cartridges

Has anybody tried out / uses clearaudio cartridges
with sondek/arrow combinations? I have heard good things about the Victory but know that getting a decent dem with a sondek is a bit of a nightmare.

Cheers

...but I use a Sigma Gold MC (£600-700ish) which I really rate. Takes about 100 hours to run in properly, looks a little bit unusual but certainly is streets ahead of my ESCo modified Asaka which it replaced.

I think Maul Pessenger smile reviewed one of the Clear Audios in HiFi Choice compared to the Lyra Parnassus, etc. 1998/9 I think, I remember because it was about the time I bought the ArkivB. I think his reviews are worth reading and I might have it buried somewhere. If you want a copy email me. I think he really rated it BTW,

Well maybe I didn't hate it, but I certainly didn't get on with it. I found it didn't really communicate with, or involve, me.

Quite accomplished in terms of resolution, soundstage and space, but a bit mechanical - no doubt about it being a transcription device if you see what I mean.

Tried it in a fully naimed LP12 into 52/scap/135s/sbls with S and K boards. Also tried it in my system. Same results.

Also tried the one up from the Victory - same result. I think I don't get on with the Clearaudio presentation as I don't like their decks either. This is a shame since their products are very well built and the distributor is a great guy.

It should be possible to get a dem of it in a Linn/Naim setup - you just need to know the right dealer. ;-)

Frank.
