iPhone apps

Posted by: JamieL_v2 on 15 November 2009

I do not own an iPhone, but my girlfriend does, so I get to play with a couple of applications.

At the weekend we were recommended Smack Talk, which is such a simple and silly programme. £0.59 I think, so worth playing, but here is a link to someone recording it on YouTube.

YouTube - Smack Talk

We were shown it is a pub, so were a little drunk when we started playing with it, so we just ended up in tears of laughter.

I can also say that the game promo for 'The Men Who Stare a Goats' film is fun, and very silly too.

Has anyone else discovered similar silly, or perhaps really useful apps?

There is a review in today's Sunday Times of an App where you point your phone at a house & it tells you how much it is!

I'll cherry pick from the well over 100 apps on my 3G S!

RadioBox for internet radio. Goes via cheap leads into my 102!
Dynoliscious, the cheapy app for performance testing cars.
Shazam. Just brilliant.
iWoopie for viewing and then storing videos from Youtube etc.
Best Camera. Cheap, fun, effective.
GymBabes.....
RC Heli. Reminds me how difficult helicopters are to fly, makes me appreciate my job a tad more!.

And, of course Facebook. I'm trying to give it up, just can't.

I'll add a few in.

AeroWeather or WeatherPro for the meteorologists.

TV Plus as an alternative to Sky+

GPS Tracker. A free GPS tracker for your phone which you can trace your route back to the same companies web utility.

NASA. Great videos and pictures.

Airfoil Speakers. If you have Airfoil running on your PC you can stream it on to your iPhone/iTouch at the same time.

Hill Lists. A full listing of all the hills/mountains in Britain with the ability to tick them off by date as you climb them. For all you Munro Baggers.

Did anyone try Smack Talk? It has reduced a couple more friends to tears of laughter.

Guilty. Fantastic, thanks for the tip.

Best 59p I've spent for a very long time.
Try saying "There isn't a horse called nitwit - YOU'RE the nitwit" into it in your best Basil Fawlty...

Just installed the Louvre museum app. Very nicely done, and free.

Another vote for 'Bloom'. Lovely.

Hook it up to your Hi-Fi and make great music.
