Any one ever heard Dolby True HD??

Hi all,

This question has to be asked as isn't this the audiophile pinnacle of Blu Ray? Surely sound cannot get any better than this, considering we now have so many sources of recorded sound.

What I also find curious is that you would assume that high quality commercial theatres have True HD, but as this isn't under the direct control of the home-user the experience cannot be the same. When you go to the cinema you have to contend with 'that' particular viewer who eats popcorn akin to a cow eating from its trough.

At home you don't get this.

I look forward to your replies!

Well, Dolby True HD is present on most bluray discs and ususally sounds good, if that's the question. But in the end, it all comes down to production, as it ever does. Sadly, many bluray discs suffer the level compression curse, at least when it comes to micro dynamics. Voices sound weird and music, unnatural. Might be my player sounding this way, though.
