I saw them live at the Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone, and they were very good. I think they have been there twice.

Moseley Shoals is a great album.

Highly recommended - excellent sound quality. Played it as a tribute today.

I remember a time when I was very young when there were only two records in the house - 'The Very Best of Eddie Cochran' and 'The Buddy Holly Story'.

It was an important part of my early years listening to those two records - especially the Buddy Holly.

Hi Munch,

we seem to be colliding alot lately.

Did you catch the Charlatans when they visited the Leas Cliff?

They were even better IMHO. Tim Burgess has got a really sweet voice.

I don't get Buddy Holly nice little tunes but really its a pale imitation of Rock 'n' Roll. The original white boy sells black music to the masses. Pop music artists are actually singing songs with the same themes today ma peggy peggy peggy sue Oooooooo Oooooooo Ooooooo. Smile

Sorry to be negative but to me another rose tinted artist from the past.

How old are you? If you were listening to Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson type stuff, Buddy Holly and other artists were a revelation.
The Crickets and their engineers did so much with so little, they even made ballards cool.
No pale imitation it was a new format almost.
So much more subtle than the BH and the Comets.
Not black music either, their own work for the most part.
Led the way for groups like the Beatles and then Manchester groups to copy them.
