Does anyone have Allae's with Nait5?

Curious if anyone has heard or owns this combo.
Dealer carries Naim Series 5 components only
and but not the Naim speakers. Have read somewhere that 112/150 combo is minimum requirement but NANA says Nait can work great
with Allae's.

II had a listen over a year ago so I can't remember too much on how they sounded. I needed a pair of speakers that worked well against a wall so I auditioned some Intro's, Allae's and some Dynoaudio's but at the time I bought a pair of Linn Ninka's which suited my budget and I thought they sounded amazing if a little underpowered by the Nait 5.

I'm going to have a demo of the Allae's some time this week as I've recently upgraded my Nait 5 to the new NAP200/NAC202 and will post my results.

the 150 is a wonderful amp. I clearly heard a difference from my old 92 when I hooked it up. A 200 would also be wonderful, but maybe you should look at using the nait5 with the 150 amp because it has those 20 WPC that give it more muscle. Sorry never heard any of the Naim speakers.

I would have to agree with Richard.

I listened to the Allaes with the Nait5, the 112/150 and the 202/200. It sounded closed in, slow and not as dynamic on the nait5 when compared to the 112/150 and 202/200. My dealer also told me that the 112/150 is the recommended minimum.

So the thought of partnering the Allaes with my 92/90 went straight out of the window.

I always thought that the llae was designed with the series 5 components in mind. That's certainly the impression I got from my dealer, as well as the "Real world High End" piece on a series 5 system with Allaes reviewed in The Absolute sound lately.

Positive results for the allae-5series combination occur when room acoustics permit. only a home demo will tell.

At best, such a system excels in purely musical terms, from soft to medium-loud listening levels.

If something sounds wrong it'll be as Richard describes.

worth a shot - rememeber you'll still get bass with a nait/allae- something you'd never get with the nait/SBLs.

God, if THAT had worked...............

silk - the 90s entry level naims are generally a lot messier sounding so yes unless you are really lucky, 92/90 will not ordinarily do.

Ajalden - just you wait till the running in period for the 202/200 is over Wink

Credos with nait3 work well, and I have to admit the above: Credos active with 2 90s is a very nice thing!

BTW: What about SBLs minimum requirement? 140...? 250...?

so not too far from you.

Please don't pass this onto my Audio dealer but I eagerly went along with a handful of CD's to hear my demo of the Allae's along with the Linn Ninka's but unfortunatly the demo didn't last long.

The chap had somehow wired up the Amp and Speakers wrongly and an alarming amount of what I would call feedback came out and both of the tweeters in the Ninka's blew. Red Face

I'm now waiting on the dealer receiving some new tweeters before I have my demo!....
