What's the problem? It seems ok to me.

Snap crackle and pop when outputting via digital.

Dragging artwork into the art well no longer works for whole albums only individual tracks (this is a bug as it seems to try and do it)

slow as hell.

The first one is the main issue by far, sound sgreat for ten minutes then drops out with crackle, comes back sound great for 4 minutes, drops out, few pops sounds great....

Fuck that I am putting a CD on.

Pretty much like a record deck then.

i-tunes v.7 running on three different PCs and sounding fine. The i-pod seems happy with its new pictures too.

Managed to get V7 running with no problem at all. And whilst I downloaded this I also upgraded the Gen5 iPod software from V1.1 to 1.2 However, now the iPod freezes regularly, specially when scrolling through artists or albums. Anyone else experiencing this problem? More importantly, any suggestions on how to fix this?

Regards

a "reset" can work wonders. Just follow the instructions on Apple's site.

Tried the reset as suggested by Rockingdoc....no change. The iPod is still on the latest version 1.2 and keeps hanging. This is getting very annoying. Is anybody else getting the same result after going to V1.2?? It looks to me as if there is a bug in this latest release of the iPod OS. Never had this before with Gen3 or Gen5 iPod.
Any other suggestions than 'reset'???

I have succumbed to temptation and got the 8 gig nano today.

It works perfectly, and sounds much better than it ought to, playing at 192 kbps via Chord's ichord to my Nait 5i. It also feels much more robust than the earlier Nano.

Lastly, I have to say it looks pretty cool sat in its dock next to the equally black Nait.

Nice one Apple.

Has anyone had any problems with iTunes 7? The mac forums are full of tales of woe with this update..there is now v7.1 supposedly to address these issues. It ssems tha there have been complaints that it crashes computers and messes up ipod syncing. Also distorted sound.
