Very very sad - Edward Albert Arthur Woodward OBE was a great actor and had the starring role in the one truly great horror film.
Surely a permanent fixture among the list of greatest motion pictures ever made.
RIP Sergeant Howie - you'll be missed.

A great actor indeed, Callan was a boyhood favorite of mine - I remember the swinging lightbulb well.

Much as I hate to admit it, I rather fancied him as Callan, although I was very young then and easily influenced by those masterful secret agent types.
I didn’t fancy him very much as Sergeant Howie, well not as much as Willow any-how.
As Edward Woodward he was a very nice human being, and at least he was lucky to have a good interesting life.
...Funeral arrangements were not immediately announced
I wonder if he’ll have a wicker coffin, and a cremation?

Man with 3 planks of wood on his head: Ed wood wood wood.
Why does Edward Woodward's name have so many "d's" in it? Because otherwise it would be Ewar Woowar.
Larry Olivier to Noel Coward: "His name sounds like a fart in a bathtub. Edwub wub wub..."

Countd once pointed out your proclivity for announcing deaths. You do seem to have a taste for it ... why?
