180 internal pics

Posted by: Simo on 14 November 2003

I bought a used 180 and when i look inside i found the naps 140/3 board (the same of the nap 140).
I never see a 180 inside but i have same pics of a 160 where the caps are fixed like in Hicap
and they are bigger then the 4 x 10000 uf of the 140.
Can anybody tell me if i bought an ibrid and froud nap?

thanks

Simone

I remember reading a review of the Nap180 in Hifi New's.The caps(4x10,000uf)look the same as in the 140 so I wouldn't worry.

The 180 uses the same Power supply board as the 140 ( a trapesoid board with caps monted head down) and the same amp boards as in all olive Naim amps (including 250 and 135).
Yours seems to be OK.
In a 160, originals are bigger, but still 10000uF 40v, we replace them by the same as in your 180.
