Ittok Lift/Lower Device - refitting

Posted by: Ron Brinsdon on 07 March 2003

The previous owner of my s/h LP12 has found the cueing device which he removed from the Ittok and forwarded it onto me so my thanks to him.

Whilst I appreciate that it may or may not improve sound quality, I really need to fit it as I have never been too happy lowering any arm without this safeguard.

Could I have your opinions please as to :-

1. How high in the circular recess should the device be positioned to achieve "correct" fall -is there a Linn recommended position?

2. Does it have to be secured as tightly as possible and should I therefore need to consider the warnings about damaging bearings when refitting?

Thanks in advance for your help and also thanks to Bob Griffin who serviced it for me last week.

Have you tried the web. Analogue addicts have a LP12 FAq site.Or, what about the chap that serviced it last week.

If I remember rightly I dont think the lift lower device attaches to the arm itself, doesn't it attach to a collar at the base of the arm, in which case bearing damage shouldn't be an issue.
The grub screw that securs it isn't the largest in the world so I dont think you can get as much torque on this as on cartride screw for example anyway.

Mine is just sensibly tight.

As for position it's just trial and error. It should only take 1 minite, just do it!
