The term wheels is rapidly becoming into common use.
It is to be depreciated.

Unfortunately Mick is right . All my wheels depreciated the minute I left the showroom.

Mick needs to learn the full implications of the verb "ignore."
Thus I'd be more than happy if he resumed his New Year resolution in my particular direction.
Not ignoring me is as addictive to him, I guess, as the malt whisky.
A less petulant approach from Mick would be to respond to posts he finds inspiring (and worthy ihnsvho of a response) and to disregard completely those he may find somewhat tiresome or insipid.
I'm actually rather flattered, tbh.

Back to fast cars - notably BMWs, it's a pity that they've been adopted by the more wealthy chavs as their chosen wheels, as this should not detract from their sheer driveability.
I've been a fan of Beemers since the early eighties, and if I could afford one I'd buy one.
However, I never did plan to drive a car for my living so I guess that I'd rather spend my money on something that won't put points on my licence - i.e: I'd rather get my jollies from decent apparatus for reproducing music.
I don't purchase anything just for the sake of its image or to impress others, and for this reason I get irritated when I'm stuck behind a plodder in a Beemer - and there seem to be plenty of them about these days.
What a waste of resources!
If you can't (or won't) drive it (properly) why buy it?

Mr Toy
In a way you should be flattered, you serve as the perfect example of an intelligent and educated man presenting the image of a totally inarticulate dullard.
You should learn not to type after a drink.

Did someone say something?

Is a plodder in a beemer a member of the constabulary?
and as for these 911 crits of the 350z, what are these people on? Any old fool knows the 350z is more accuarately described as a chiseled-off Audi TT. They rate for looks in my fantasy garage - haven't had the pleasure of a drive.
cheers

Or is a TT really just a 350z with a protruding arse?

Am seriously tempted by restyled M3 though
You will not be disappointed. If you are looking take a look at www.bm3w.co.uk for some useful insight into the world of M cars.
Massive savings on new if you are looking to pick up a nearly new car.

The new 3 Series is OK (he said risking damning with faint praise?) but I was probably expecting a bit more than it delivered.
I had dropped into my local dealer and had a go in the new 3 Series - the driving characteristics are very similar to the outgoing model, perhaps slightly improved. I just do not like the dash board - ugghh.

Bizarrely the car I drove that actually impressed me most was the X3(2.5 petrol Sport). From the reports that I had read this was supposed to be an ugly, badly put together, overpriced, underperforming car.
I thought it was brilliant to drive - and it looks better from the inside looking out. It's not the car for me but it was surprisingly good.
One downside is that the X3 appears somehat overpriced.

For the same price you can get the Nissan Murrano. A 4 x 4 based on the 350Z.
It is supposed to be best in class by a long way. I may pop down to my local Nissan dealer to have a peek at one.
