Early NAC 52

Is there much differance ( sonically ) between a 52\52PS as opossed to a 52\supercap?
Would a 52\52PS be much of an upgrade over my NAC 82\Hi-Cap\Hi-Cap?

Must say when I went 82 to 52 about 10 years ago it wasnt night and day improvement, more than the 1-2 hicaps on an 82 improvement but not much more.

Besides the Supercap upgrade, the pots board and black interconnects were the only sonic improvements made (the front panel upgrade just allowed FLASH compatibility and most of those get left in the box)

I had the Supercap upgrade (£900 in 1997) which I never quantified as it was combined with other upgrades, and the pots board upgrade (£180 in 1998) which was a significant improvement (as was black Burndy and SNAIC)

Alan

Im not sure actually. My VC stopped responding to the remote and I was offered replacement as was for £90 or the new board for £180 and glad I went for the latter

Bosh,

there was an upgrade to allow the early 52's to work with the CD player remotes (Philips standard codes) long before the Flash came out.

cheers, Martin
