Dorks.
It's a programme for dorks.
Tedious people sitting around, talking drivel.
It is a complete mystery to me, why anyone would be remotely interested in this televised twaddle.
And.......... I've just caught a bit of 'Quiz Mania' on ITV in the wee hours. It appears that there is money to be won, if you know how many beans make five.
And there was a blonde tart 'presenting' the programme who has suffered a clothing taste by-pass, and possesses the most irritating squeaky voice I have ever heard on TV.
No hang on - that's not fair. I was forgetting Sharon Osbourne.
Very depressing indeed.
John.

It's not exactly an original thought but I've never been able to understand why people like watching boring, often objectionable people sitting about being eh .... boring and objectionable.
Can somebody please explain?

It beats the hell out of me. I watched about 2 minutes out of morbid curiosity. Recognised none of the ones on screen. In two minutes heard more expeletives than coherent words.
Not for me.
Not for me.

Well, thanks for all your compliments. Much appreciated.
Especially J.N.- Moron.
I keep forgetting you have to be intellectual to post on this forum.

I'm a moron for not wanting to watch morons?
You asked the question buddy - if you don't like the answers, that's no reason to resort to personal insults.
I now understand why you have an interest in this televised twaddle.
Perhaps you need to change your forum name?
John.

What i dont understand is - people with cable tv or sky watching programs like b-bother when they have a choice of so many other channels.
These seem to be the same people who watch soap operas.
I do not have a tv and have no intensions of buying one niether, if i do get one it would for games consoles + one to one on the teletext. oh yeah and football results
Up the hammers!

If you read the original post i asked who was on it, not "am i dork for watching it"
If you dont know the answer then stay out of it.
As for changing my forum name what would you suggest? Idiot maybe? Dork?
That could be a woderful sweeping generalisation for people who watch tv.
As a matter of fact, i wasnt watching it, my wife was and i walked in on it and didnt know (or she) who some of them were.
So as for personal insults, maybe you should have a think about your first post.

Mr Nice Guy
May I suggest one of the following two sites for you to refer to in order to solve your dilemma :
1. http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/
2. http://www.google.co.uk
Other than than - avoid wasting Naim bandwidth if you want a simple question answered. It's a forum, not AskJeeves.

I take it you have also informed others on this forum asking non Naim related questions
Jesus, i dont get you people.
It was just a simple topic for which i dont care much but i thought it might have some amusing comments and observations, not a topic to start slagging people off.

I believe you started the insults towards forum members in this thread calling someone a moron.
Read your first post for what it was, not what you thought it meant.

This televised banality simply baffles me.
Perhaps I'm missing the point - what is the entertainment value of these inane foul mouthed people, or is it just voyeurism?
And as for the so-called celebrities - I really felt sorry for Barrymore. This man used to be a highly paid and successful artiste. He comes across on BB as drunk or disorientated and desperate.
How can he think that appearing on BB will improve his public profile? Has he resorted to BB, as that's the only way he can get in front of a camera?
Very sad indeed.

J.N. the purpose is to make the audience feel better about themselves by toppling the people who they think are the "great and the good" or for the off the street contestants to demonstrate that are some people worse than the audience.

John, Armando Iannucci put it rather well in Sunday's Observer newspaper: "Brutal manipulation of cretins for our amusement". Except, of course, in the case of Celebrity Big Brother the cretins are marginally less obscure and much more egotistical, which increases the fun (I don't watch Celeb BB, it's too tedious, but I follow it in the tabloids - saves time and brain cells. However, I don't follow bog-standard BB at all, not even in the papers, as it's too boring to bear, even indirectly...)
