Beyonce distortion?

I seem to be getting quite a bit of distortion on my new Beyonce B'Day Vinyl (no jokes about this being her voice).

I've heard that some of these issues can be due to so called high output records. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Yeah, you can.
You can get a bit of distortion under very high output.

your cart and your phonostage? i got distortion when i switched from a stageline n to another stage (where the source signal could be elevated - it was too much for my already very loud goldring 1042!)
