funny thing is when I first sold the 92/90 I put that system straight on and couldn't believe how crap it sounded, now after a few days, it sounds OK, (with the Bass Enhancer on!) just goes to show how your ears and brain adjust.
best,

Mike,
the CDSI has a slightly difference design of top door. See:-
The CDSII door has no metal strip at the back - it is all plastic. (Note this is from a CDSI-II upgraded head. The CDSI door is left in place).
Also, I'm not sure if the -I has a 'display' button on the front, although I think it has one, but display cannot be switched off.
cheers, Martin
So was going to all plastic a cost saving measure, vibration tweaking or (gasp) a move towards non ferrousness?
PS Martin,
Why do you have a pic of a CDSI flap assembly? I think it pretty cool.

What is the feet you have under your Kan stands Tony ?
Is it Linn Skeets or....?
I was wondering how long it would be before someone spotted them! I bought them on Saturday purely because I am doing a bit of serious speaker demming at home tomorrow - I don't want to trash my wooden floor in the process. I never bothered protecting the floor with the Kans as they are light enough not to sink in more than about half a millimetre or so.
The disks are made by Perfect Sound (!) and cost slightly over a tenner from the local box shifter. They are made from a hard plastic and have a sort of hard foam on the bottom, I did a quick A B and I actually think they improve things a little with the Kans - there is not much in it either way though. The most obvious thing they do is to dramatically cut down the amount of energy being dumped into the floor. Placing my hand on the floor when playing something with some serious bass output shows a fraction of the vibration that was there previously.
I suspect that on this floor they are probably a good thing for this reason alone, the less that hits the floor obviously means the less that hits the rest of the gear, especially the deck. The effect on the sound is a slight reduction on the 'in yer face' aspects of the Kans, but without removing what they do so well. I think I will leave them in.

I have a digital camera. It takes me 30 seconds to switch it on & snap a pic. Slightly more if the first one is below even my low expectations.
Within another couple of minutes the pic is on my hard disc, cropped, and compressed down to 29.9Kb.
Perhaps it's too easy?
