Dynavector P75 Phono Stage.

Posted by: custard on 25 January 2004

Ive borrowed the P75 from my dealer for a few days, and having connected it to my 102 through the cd input with chord chrysalis interconnect I prefer the sound of the standard phono card in my 102.
I can get a cable made with the same wiring as my tonearm for£65.00 would this make a difference?
Is my pre amp not good enough(Iam upgrading to an 82 shortly)?
The P75 has only been plugged in for an hour.
Anybody any other suggestions?
My system is in my personal profile.

Custard, I can't answer your questions but I do know the P75 is a great phono stage and excellent vfm. Something tells me it should outperform the 102 board since mine outperforms the DVP100 it replaced which in turn outperformed a Linto which in turn outperformed the 82 boards, by a not inconsiderable margin in each case. All this is with DV carts: 17D2 and XX2 so maybe that's important.

I think the P75 does take at least 24 hours to warm up - scandalous innit.

Thanks for the reply Alex ill give it a proper listen tonight.
I heard the P75 in a Dynavector system a while ago and it was far superior to the standard Dynavector phono stage using a 10x5.
