High quality non scratch CD inner sleeves?

Posted by: Harry on 07 May 2006

Like the ones that come with CDs in miniature LP format. I have a variety which are made from various combinations of thin paper and plastic and am in need of some spares. The US Zep1 came with a rather brutal cardboard inner sleeve which leaves bits all over the playing surface and seems to be designed more to damage than protect!

Any recommendations for suppliers much appreciated. A quick Google and visits to HMV UK and Japan drew a blank. If anyone has one to spare I'll gratefully pay or make a donation to charity etc...

Thanks

Dear Harry,

I have bought CDs packed like this in album sets of multi CDs at budget price, and Decca and DG must be sourcing them from somewhere. They have the feeling of being something like old LP inner sleeves with something like a smooth grease-proof or even slightly plasticised inner in a paper envelope.

One suggestion is to investigate a computer supplier, as I bet many data discs are stored like this.

Personally I am never happy with these sleeves as unlike on LPs it is hard to get the disc in or out without some rubbing of the surface. I always rehouse these discs in real jewel cases, even though these are pretty hateful things that break even when I don't tread on them!

PS: I have about half a dozen spare just now, so have a look in my space for a contact which I will leave till later this evening...
