What is your ONE favourite al*** of all time? (JUST ONE!!)
Posted by: Consciousmess on 07 November 2008
I know it is so tempting to say depends on my mood or its either 'this' or 'that', but as the thread question asks, what is your favourite album of all time?
Difficult for me but if I had to choose ONE, I'd say:
Pink Floyd: DSOTM
Regards,
Jon

When ELP were first formed they did look for a guitarist and Jimi was asked, but something stopped it happening - could have been HELP.
Greg Lake made this comment on ELP's discussions with Hendrix
That story is indeed true. Mitch Mitchell had told Jimi about us and he said he wanted to explore the idea. Even after Mitch was long out of the picture and we had already settled on Carl, talk about working with Jimi continued. We were supposed to get together and jam with him around August or September of 1970, but he died before we could put it together.
Hendrix could have been the new David O'List.
I really like Benny The Bouncer - apparently too complex to make it in to the live show. I may not bother we the deluxe version if it is all SACDs as I can't play them.
ATB Rotf
PS Flexi-Disk was with the NME - great track too - should have been on the elpee instead of Jerusalem. BSS had one of the great lines.

If it has to be just one, then It can't be for strict musical reasons only, so my choice is: >The Firehouse Five (plus Two) Story, vol.3<. My younger brother gave it to me for Christmas in 1964, I was 11 and he was 8. I've had it for 44 years and it's still playing.

KING CRIMSON -THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING
Epitaph is perhaps the most melancholic song ever.Amazing how music suports the lyrics perfectly.

I think most people would agree this the greatest rock n roll album ever to come out on vinyl and if you don't then you won't, no you won't get that load down Stardom Road.

"Grace" - Jeff Buckley. Nothing else comes close, really.
