Robin Trower - 'What Lies Beneath'

Hallelujah! A modern recording with some transparency, detail and dynamic range.
I've just received RTs 2009 CD on his own V12 label. Livingston Brown plays bass, and produced the album - very nicely indeed.
It harks back to the integrated, flowing and organic feel of the classic 1974 'Bridge of Sighs', being the length of a proper album at 42 minutes. With no fillers or tripe, it seems to be finished all too soon with great songs from start to finish.
RT has taken up vocal duties, as fellow devotees will know that James Dewar who played bass and was 'the voice of Robin Trower', sadly passed away in 2002 aged only 59.
A word of warning: The CD is also available on the Evangaline label. I don't know if that version/pressing will sound as good as the version I have on Robin Trower's own V12 label.
John.
