Hi Liam,
As the owner of an original Oxygene LP from 1978, I can only say that I have been very favourably impressed by the more recent 24/96 remasterings on Sony/Epic. I feel that the full value of the LP has been retained in these CDs, and they are definitely worth getting.
I have Oxygene and Equinoxe in remastered versions, each picked up for less than a tenner in the HMV sale, so look around and compare prices. Catalogue numbers 01-487375-10 Oxygene, 01-487376-10 Equinoxe. They both say 'Digitally remastered 96khz-24bit technology by Masterdisk New York' on the back so they are easy to tell.
Hope this helps

I recently purchased a 96Khz - 24 bit remastered CD of 'Oxygene' on the French Dreyfus label FDM-36140-2 (remastered by Scott Hull, Masterdisk, New York) which has a superb sound quality.
There is reference in the French sleeve notes, to efforts being made in the remastering process, to retain the warmth of the original analogue recording.
It's a superb job - a nice balance of clarity and smoothness. I can heartily recommend this version, and I reckon it's a modern and timeless classic.

I once went on a coach ride inland in Morocco for 24 hours and the only music on board was 'Oxygene' looped.
They can't do be doing much more cruel at Guantanamo IMHO.

You mean they didn't play the remastered version?

Unfortunately, good though 'Jarre in China' is in theory, it is dire in practise. The music appears to have been recorded off a PA feed, there is no ambience or sense of occasion, which is shocking considering the amazing venue; my suspicion is that he is miming to preprogrammed tracks.
Try before you buy on this one.
