New Naim CD player.

Hi
Have read a lot of posts about CD5/CD5i and CDX2 I think there is room for a new CD player.
With the CD5i comming on the scene the CD5 sould be upgraded to a new player costing £1500-£1600 so there is not such a big jump in performance or price from CD5 and CDX2.
Naim may already have thought of this but I cannot think that running two players at about the same price counter productive.

Hi GAnders
Where did you get this info. After stopping the Nait 5 I thought the CD5 would follow. Naim seems to have balanced systems from bottom to top
CD5i/Nait 5i
CD5/112/150
CDX2/202/200
CDX2/282 /250
CDS3/252/300
CDS3/552/500
There are also lots of variations of these set ups but I feel the jump from CD5 and CDX2 to be the greatest

Yeah I got a s/h 82 just months ago and now wondering what it would take to sell my CD5 and FC2 and get a CDX2. I hate upgraditis and it just gets fed to the boiling point when I read this forum which is almost dialy now. Should throw the computer away and just enjoy the musc ....but then how would I make money for my next upgrade?

CD5+Flat/hicap is the player(s) between the CD5 and CDX2.

You can make a good argument for a CD5 + Cap in the real, cash limited, world. I'd love to hear what Naim could do with a bare CDP in the £1.4-1.6k range but if we decided to go there then we'd defenitely wait a bit longer and go for the CDX2 - unless this mythical new player was something really special.
