Home/Small Business Accounts Package

Used to use "Quicken" - is there anything out there that someone can recommend?
The ability to track and reconcile several different account types is required, as is budgeting and the facility for decent reporting.

In a word - Sage.
Simply huge in the world of accounts now, with products to cover just about everything.
Certainly worth a look at least, there backup is excellent as well - if sometimes a little lengthy in the wait.
Most accountancy firms are fully conversant with it as well which also helps.

Sage is fine if used correctly. You do need a thorough knowledge of how the package and good acounting knowledge to get the best out of it.
We are looking at Microsoft accounts as a competetor and use a package called cashflow manager for most of our smaller business's,

I (very) briefly sold accounting packages for a living years ago and, as well as Sage, one of the other packages we used to recommend was Mind Your Own Business. It was very good then (mid-90s). Is it still current? If so, it might be an option worth considering.
