The Bourne Ultimatum-anyone else seen it?

I'd really been looking forward to seeing this after so many good reviews but I have to say it left me exhausted and slightly irritated.
The intensely kinetic and blurry, tight-cropped action sequences are at times truly brilliant; the problem is that it never stops! In the brief moments when a bit of story is told, or the character has a moment of reflection the camera is still jittering all over the place and within 5 seconds the music hits overdrive and we are being bashed around again. I actually started to dread the next set piece!
Am I just a sad old fart or does anyone else agree?

We've watched the first two and thought they were okay ... enjoyable thrillers but with very little room to expand (a la Bond) and so-so direction/production. Basically modern, over-rated, slightly better than pulp fiction thrillers (the acting is a lot better for one thing).
As for the new one ("Ultimatum"): my son (19) saw it and he reported back to me that he thought I'd hate it, the reason being the non-stop moving camera. So it looks like you won't be on your own with your views.
That said, a neighbour of similar age to myself has told me he thought it was great entertainment.
Me? Well, I won't be pushing down the shop doors to purchase the DVD.

For what they are, action thrillers, I enjoyed them all. The latest has some clever chronological details which enhances the previous movie somewhat; I won't spoil it by detailing what these are!
Go, relax and enjoy!
And Joan Allen is gorgeous as always!

I found the first one disappointing and the second dire. Of course, it probably doesn't help that I loved the book, one of Ludlum's best.
One of the most annoying, and baffling changes was that in the book, he isn't actually a bad guy and it's the girl (whose name escapes me)'s faith in that that drives much of it.
That said, if I hadn't read the books, I suspect, in a purely mindless action sense, I would have found it quite fun.

I found the constant drive in the first and second movie rather exciting. The feeling is that the hero thinks fast and acts fast and you have hardly the time to keep up. That's different way to create tension than having "a lot of things happening all the time" or the constant halfsecond scene switching in music videos.

I enjoyed it for what it was. Matt Damon has only two expressions too - confused and angry - so the role was perfect for him.

Other that the latest bond film, there is no comparison - Bourne is better. Sure the books are given poetic licence via the film, but so was bonds.
Bourne for me, thanks.

I thought it was fantastic.
Bear in mind that this is an all action blockbuster whose sole purpose is to deliver the visceral thrills of lunatic car and bike chases and hard thumping fight scenes. It does this with a pace, energy and inventiveness that’s been missing from this type of film for years. I’d add special mention too for the soundtrack, which thoroughly enhances the film.
Even if you normally hate this type of film, you’d have to admit that it’s pretty remarkable entertainment. I left the cinema feeling much the same way as I did when I visited Alton Towers for the first time as a kid.

Seen it ... enjoyed it ... Let's face it you know what you're going to get; not a lot of depth, but decent action. The camera work can be hard work, made sure we sat at the back ... makes it an easier watch.
