Hi and good morning you all!
I've found a review on last "Audiophile Sound" issue about this label.
Does anybody had the chance to listen to these remasters?
Thanks a lot!

Gianluigi, good night (11:45PM in Chicago).
I have only one of the Reference Serie and it is Stan Getz Quartet Live In Paris:

The music and the sound are very good. I have also a couple of standard CDs from Dryfus (Richard Galliano-accordion) which sound good too.
Regards,
Haim

Thanks a lot Haim!
The distribution of this label started here in Italy as well by Egea Records (www.egeamusic.com) and my curiosity raised.
I think i'll place a small order.

Gianluigi good morning,
What are you going to get from them?
Here is a Richard Galliano that I like a lot.

Haim

Hi Haim!
There's a remaster of "April in Paris" by Charlie Parker, "Jazz me blues" by Bix Beiderbecke and "The man i love" by Billie Holiday.
These where those attracting me more and all carry the "diapason d'or" mark on sleeve.
In the years i've lost touch with jazz and starting again is quite a roaming!
I'll post a new thread about a record i'm looking for, hopind that someone already foud it before me!
Thanks Haim!

There's a couple of two cd sets that I can recommend for playing and sound. Gerry Mulligan Big Band and the Clarke/Boland big band. Both rocking affairs, if you like big band.

Oh yes Sigmund!
In my old vinyl collection there were a lot of 45 rpms printings, some from Verve if i remember well, and some of theme were just only one piece per side with incredible big bands performances!
Thanks a lot for link!
Cheers.
Gianluigi

Here we are!
Postman (postwoman in my case!) arrived and arrived 3 titles of Dreyfus Jazz Reference Serie as well!
I'm listening to The man i love.
Lady Day, Billie Holiday, and some remastered pieces starting from 1937.
This recordings of course brings the marks of time with them, but i must say that a very fine job has been done.
I've listened to other original recordings and remasters of different artists and all of them were terribly compressed, flat and distorted.
Here we have a little miracle.
I do repeat that years of age are palpable but the general sound image and (yes!) dynamics are very surprising.
After this: Charlie Parker with April in Paris and Gerry Mulligan Quartet plus Chet Baker with Soft Shoe.
A busy evening.

Me again!
Some other cheap thinkings.
Having a "closer" listening to these records i have the clean impression that all the analogical warmth of the original recording has not been sacrificed to the severe tech precision that makes them, in many cases, only boring, shiny, cold pieces of aluminium.
My humble suggest is to get some.
