Naim pre and Bryston Power Amps

Posted by: Reto D on 24 February 2004

Hi,
I'm using a 252 and want to upgrade my 250 to something better. Of course I'm thinking about a NAP 300 or something similar maybe a Bryston of which I heard some good comments. What do you think? Could that be a real alternative?

I'm sure a 300 is good, maybe a Bryston is better.....

Hello Reto,

Nice to hear that you also want to climb the "up-grade ladder"....

I'm also busy evaluating alternatives for a new power amp to match my CDS 2, 252 and Wilson Benesch ACT2's; mine currently is an AYRE V-3 – not a bad amp, but I think, it’s now the “weak link”.
The 300 is one obvious option - some "tubey-types" however are my secret "contenders”, but I haven’t listened to anything yet and I’m not sure, which way to go as yet.

Did you actually audition / home-demo the NAP 300 ? or any other model ?

I’d like to hear your experiences & findings.
