Janis Joplin

I was in a cd shop today and at the listening post was a cd cover which had been left by someone. It was Pearl by Joplin, so I bought it.

What a great album, great voice and tight band. Good purchase!

It says on the cover that for her this was her best and last work, however is there more, is there better?

Yes. "Cheap Thrills" is the record. Janis sings lead vocals with Big Brother and the Holding Company. Wait 'till you hear Ball and Chain; its anything but the weakest link. "Get it while you can." Also see "Live Winterland '68. Cheers, Dean

And see/hear Monterrey Pop (4 CDs) for live Janis. This was her breakthrough performance in 1967.

Bak to Beethoven...
