Hicap2

Since the launch of the new ‘Classic’ range of products, I’ve enjoyed the rave reviews posted here on virtually all of the new kit, with the exception of the Hicap2. Almost 4 weeks ago, I took delivery of a Hicap2, which replaced my older (silver/black) Hicap. This older unit had been fully serviced by NANA in 2001 to include all new locking dins along with the normal recap service. Needless to say it sounded great!
The new Hicap arrived and was immediately put into the system. (same Snaic5 as it was less than 2 months old...thanks Steve) Within an hour it was as good as the old one and now 4 weeks later is continuing to leave me awestruck as to how much better it is. All aspects of the music are better. Bass, vocals, PRAT…you name it and it is better. Background instruments that were barely present are now very audible in the mix. Even ceedees which seemed ‘harsh’ before are now more enjoyable. It has turned out to be an upgrade of much greater proportions than expected.
Anyone else had a chance to compare?
