That looks like a collection to take me down memory lane! What record label and cat number, please?

Thanks from George

Good Evening George,

A fine Quartet! (the track compilation is from 1997) i particularly like Waterloo Sunset, one of my favourites : )

Sanctuary Records @2001 CMRCD212 (available used from amazon from £3.79)

There is also; SMRCD024 Remastered @2004 - (from hmv for £4.99) but i don't know what this later one is like. I purchased my cd version about 7 years ago.

btw George, thanks for your interesting comments yesterday on the Schoenberg... i thought it was okay in places but very overblown and a bit boring quite often on 2cd's. A highlights version would be better if one knew what bits were the best...( i wouldn't : )
It's very nice to get loaned this sort of musik for the experience, saves my bank accound no end! ; )

nymph

p.s. just sent you an email George.

How does this sound to you?

Got to say it is full of numbers I really love, but frequently sounds to me as though Frank was recorded singing in the loo. I tend to get out my vinyl rather than listen to this CD compilation.

However - no blck stuff here!

Much better

Dionne Warwick greatest hits, double CD, can not find any images of cover - too late to start scanning!

Sounds good.

Tam,

I find them nice to listen to. I have several versions by different Composers/Artist and I like to compare just for my own educational purpose. I love classical music but I have to say it's a new genre for me. Frankly I've been taking notice from others on this forum as to what they are playing and the comments. For example I would like to learn more about how one is bored with one performance and excited with another.

Kind regards,

Larry

Haim,

many thanks - I will put it on my wishlist. I finally got the Haden/Anderson and will listen to it when I get back from lunch with the family.

Have a great weekend ...Oliver
