Thanks for that.
How do people come up with songs like that?
The music is the easy part.
But a story told like that with music.

Mark,
Is it yours or did you borrow Stefan's copy?

Hello Haim,
I discovered her first Haydn CD a weekend at Geoff P. A mutual friend Felix brought that double CD along with him.
I must say that I like her Haydn. Her other discs while good, are not so compelling IMO.
While at our local Media Markt yesterday, I bought the new Haydn and Händel organ concertos Op.4 (Richard Egarr) and the new Hilary Hahn, which so far I have not listened to them yet.
The following has also been getting a lot of playing.

and while in France I bought

which is an absolute knockout. Heard him at the Alte Oper Frankfurt play this earlier this month. I also like the Adam Harasiewicz interpretation here and was tempted also to buy yesterday evening

but did not. Since you are the resident Tharaud expert, any good ?
Have a nice Sunday

ROTF and PC have no much in common I can't believe they are not total soul mates.
Anyway I doubt the multi-talented, mega-rich Mr C loses too much sleep over the fact that the English Female Folk Appreciation Society are not on-side.
To the anti Collins faction, I merely say two words. "Seconds Out"

I'm half way through re-arranging my collection - so I find all the stuff I haven't listened to in years and play it while I sort out my CDs. Should do that more often - just kidding.

Mark,
Thanks for all the info. I have Tharaud's Chopin Preludes on order and in the meantime enjoy Gimse play those pieces:

Three very good discs of Tharaud which I highly recommend are his Bach, Rameau and Chopin's Waltzs.
What are the plans for a Sunday in Germany?
Regards,
Haim

Starting with the Quintet to have the piano mingle with the four string instruments.

Haim,
a shame I neglected these two recordings for a while. The MoFi sounds very good, the XRCD has outstanding sound quality. I do not have the redbook version to compare directly but I'm sure you would not be disappointed. You get three alternate takes on the XRCD (decidedly / straight, no chaser / i mean you).
Cheers ... Oliver
Oliver,
The redbook version is mediocre at best but the music is so good that the importance of the sound kind of shrinks with every note you hear.
Another excellent world music disc which I intend to get in its xrcd version is:

The original sound of MA recordings is excellent but this album is very special and is the only one from their whole catalogue which was 'xrcded'.
