ECM has got to be kidding with this recording...
This has been recorded JUST three months after I was born, and you know that I am a boring old fart, already, so... Can't believe the quality of both the recording AND music I am hearing. Simply stunning. No way a Jazz collection can exist without this. (ditch Bitches Brew, if you run out of space...)

Well done Stefan, that is the correct response to this masterpiece! Seriously, I'm really pleased you're enjoying this, as it has long been one of my favourite CDs. I played it again a couple of weeks ago after learning of Giuffre's recent death, and was stunned by how contemporary it sounded - it really could have been recorded yesterday. All of Giuffre's work with Bley and Swallow is worth checking out (try "Free Fall" next).
Meanwhile, I am listening to this new purchase for the first time:

Quirky jazz from Label Bleu - sounds extremely promising so far.
Cheers
Nigel

Nigel, thank for recommending Giuffre to me !
I intend to fill the gap in my collection with everything I can get a hand on, in the near future. Even, if "3" will turn out to be the masterpice...
cheers
Stefan

A World Circuit mid-priced sampler that was a freebie give away when you bought a full-priced disc back in the early 90s. Virtually nothing on this is still in print - a crying shame.
