I would start with this m8...cd or vinyl...Neil Diamond at his best imho.

Also, his other Rick Rubin album 12 songs is worth a punt.

A great 3CD collection of early (60s/70s) Neil Diamond. It contains all of the classic hits, as well as some of his more schlock-horror moments (Jonathan Livingston Seagull, anyone?). Available on Amazon for a mere £15, and worth it for the track "Morningside" alone.

Regards
Nigel

Gordon, Nigel,
many thanks for the pointers ... cheers Oliver

Just as good as I remembered it being on the night, very, very Rubycon (Tangerine Dream).

My favourite Nirvana elpee and by far and away the best thing any group called Nirvana ever did.

Long before the tedious grunge phenomenon, the UK's Nirvana made far more rewarding and meaningful music. The songwriting team of Patrick Campbell-Lyons and Alex Spyropoulos were more concerned with the lighter side of 60's psychedelia. Released in 1967, 'The Story Of Simon Simpoath' lays claim to being the world's first concept album, pre-dating The Pretty Things' 'S.F. Sorrow' and The Who's 'Tommy'. It traces the story from life to death of the titular hero through a series of short songs which are similar in tone and innocence to the work of Mark Wirtz.

Me neither, lovely bloke, made some canny records in his time. I really liked Back in the USSR. Back in Russia doesnt quite have the same ring to it.

Hi Munch

I have most Nirvana albums

The Story Of Simon Simopath 1967
All Of Us 1968
To Markos III 1970
Me and My Friend 2007

All on silver discs.

The last of these being Patrick Campbell Lyons and Alex Spyropoulos 1972 release Songs Of Love And Praise plus Patrick Campbell Lyons 1973 solo project as the title suggests.

I've not got Local Anaesthetic - what's it like? Is it a Patrick Campbell Lyons solo or is Alex Spyropoulos involved too.
