Pink Floyd 'Wish You Were Here' Original CD release.
I must compare this with the remaster and see if it is worth getting. I love the remaster on 'Animals' but hated the 'Dark Side of the Moon' remaster, which I took back, and got the last copy of the original CD release (the one with bass still in the sound).

I will very interested to hear what you think is the best recording of 'Wish You Were Here'.

Neil Diamond "Home Before Dark"
As recommended on this thread. I saw ND live in 1968 at the college I was attending - solo acoustic, no band. This release indicates his voice is certainly showing its age, but a wonderful acoustic guitar sound on this recording. I think several listens will make it a real keeper.

~<>~ Joseph Rheinberger (1839-1901) ~<>~
Suite for organ, violin and cello Op.149 [33:05]
Six Pieces for violin and organ Op.150 [30:19]
Paul Barritt violin
Richard Lester cello
Christopher Herrick organ
Recorded in All Saints, Kingston upon Thames, England February 1996
[DDD] helios @ 2005
Delightfully well played trio and duo (imho), and it shows that church setting recording can sound excellent when properly engineered...
The tonal qualities of the violin are just how I like to hear it with no shrillness, at times the organ goes down very deep growling magnificently. I’ve not heard of Rheinberger before and this is a very pleasant surprise to find his musik so attractive, bright and cheerful.
Another surprise is the bargain £2.99 playdot price!!
