Can't take credit for it since I do not own this disc. Probably Stefan or Adrian (the ECM twins) recommended it.
't was Adrian...
but he was right !

After seeing them on the Jools Holland narcism hour a few weeks back (pretty much the only redeeming feature as I recall), thought I'd try The Gutter Twins, Saturnalia. Pleased I did!
JWM,With you all the way on the Gutter Twins, but surely you're not dismissing the mighty 'Pentangle' who also played on the same show?!!!!Wonderful to see them all together again!
(BTW, do you have any solo Lanegan stuff? - I think you'd enjoy it if you like the Gutter Twins)
Short term memory lossthanks for reminding me about the excellent Pentangle, who are playing Cambridge Corn Exchange on Thursday 3rd July. Sadly I can't go!
This is my firsy foray into the Lanegan catalogue.
James
James,
I would heartily recommend picking up a copy of 'Field Songs', a truly excellent album IMHO, full of whiskey and nicotine drenched ballards and brooding blues. Good sound too!! All of Lanegans work reeks of quality, but this is the special album for me...

and another one Adrian recommended (and that arrived, yesterday), is the great Kenny Wheeler - The Widow In The Window

Adrian - my apologies, and thanks for the recommendation.
Haim - I'll add *your* John Taylor recommendation to my (increasingly sisyphean) list.
Just completing an order at the ACT website where selected CDs are just 7.50 Euros, and have chucked in that Chris Beier CD for good measure.

Cheers
Nigel

Adrian - my apologies, and thanks for the recommendation.
Nigel - glad you like the Peter Erskine. The next one to get is Time Being. One of my favourite ECM's.

I used to be the biggest CW fan under the sun. Until I saw her life in concert. The most disappointing concert I have seen so far. Mythbuster, as they say...
How is that CD ?
cheers
