On ECM - one of Jarrett's finest moments and a return to form after a long abscence from the concert hall due to illness. Listen carefully and you will hear me clapping loudly at the end of each track....it was a very good show.

Larry - I am trying them out. Some of it I like a lot. The death vocals (I think that's what they call them) I am getting used to at this stage. I would love it if they did a whole CD of the tuneful, normal vocal stuff - that would be stunning.

Cheers

Adrian,

I recently purchased Damnation

Some details from swhq influenced me somewhat and certainly cheap enough on amazon at the moment.
The seventh album by the Swedish band Opeth was recorded simultaneously with the metal album Deliverance (see below), but is a completely mellow album which focuses on the gentle melodic side of the band. Includes contributions from SW as producer and guest performer. Damnation also features one track co-written by SW "Death Whispered a Lullaby".

Denis

Denis,

I feel exactly the same about the growling vocals but the music is great.

Try their album "Damnation" , no growling. Thats how I got hooked.
