An album inspired by Dusty Springfield. Superb recording.

Great album, super recording.
Steve
I have not listened to this in a while. I love it. Spine tickler.
This thread is great, though it costs me a fortune. I spend more on cd's than what we spend on food.

Oh heck, more money.
I see it's available on two labels - any preference?

Katie Stelmanis
What do you think of her music?
Munch
She plays on Basia's album, but her own music is different from Basia's; it is more electronic and technical and the vocals are in the style of Nico, so it can be hard work at times. Nonetheless, it does have a hypnotic quality and the arrangements are interesting.

If you enjoy PJ Harvey in some of her more introspective moments or Nico from her Marble Index period then Katie Stelmanis is well worth a listen. There is the occasional bit of Delia Derbyshire in there too.
It is unfortunate that she does not wear an appropriate hat, but you can't have everything.
