Dear Ian,

"La creme de la Creme!" In every way. I still have not found more satisfying recorded performances in the music either!

ATB from george

PS: I played the 102 in B Flat and 103 in E Flat, "The Drum Roll," a couple of nights ago in those very recordings. Still fresh after twenty or thirty years!

The earlier post made me dig this one out - a lot of memories and history tied up in this Lp - it was the first vinyl LP I ever bought & also the first CD I ever purchased as well, many years later. I since replaced it with the much nicer sounding Repertoire re-issue from a couple of years ago. I still get lost in this album when I play it...sigh...

Hi George,

Moved on to some other cream ...

I recall you may prefer this on the harpsichord but I find my fingers heading for this disc on the shelf quite regularly.

best wishes,

Ian

I did not get all the way through it but what I heard I quite liked. Lots of female backing vocals to balance out Walter's vocal challenges. I'll probably spin again tomorrow for a more informed view.
