Dvorak's 8th and 9th symphonies from Mackerras and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Stunning stuff. I wish he was doing the 8th at his festival concert like he will be in London in October. Ah well.

It's live, which is good and adds to the the excitement, but I wish a certain over-enthusiastic member of the audience had waited a few more seconds before shouting bravo.

Britain's best female singer songwriter - if you haven't heard this record then you're missing out - she doesn't take drugs and get drunk and pick fights, she just writes and sings better than the rest. This album is simply fantastic and bang up to date.

Thanks, Adrian and Huw ! Will order, there.

The trick with the Zollamt seems to be (works with MA records) to buy CD by CD. A pain in the dings for shipping costs, but at least no customs and taxes...

Hehe... On the pile, already, but in the concert, I enjoyed most the "dirty" pieces, so would like to keep that pace, a bit, before reutning to more polite tracks...

One of the very sensible things that happens here in Australia is that the customs recognise it is a global commercial world now and allow you to import for personal use up to $1000 of gear without incurring duty and taxes. You can therefore order in bulk and have a steady stream of deliveries without any fear of taxes. You can get a lot of CD's and vinyl for 1000 bucks.
