Think Tom Petty deserves more recognition for his work over the years

Haskil and Anda on the same Mozart CD seems almost over-indulgent. Recording quality is a bit rough but the playing is full of life.

Laura Veirs - Year Of Meteors. Love her stuff!

Think I must be mellowing at the ripe old age of 42!!!

Whilst I have a nice collection of house & rap music amongst other genres I find myself listening much more to female vocals and retro stuff. Although there is a lot of great music coming out of the US right now, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, The Silver Jews etc.

So current fav plays are:

Amiee Mann - Batchelor No2 Original Master Recording
Linda Ronstadt - Don't Cry Now Original Master Recording
The Black Keys - The Big Come Up
Eagles - Long Road out of Eden

All on vinyl!!!

Cheers

Munch how good is this album, and on Vinyl you really get what BD was trying to achieve with this piece of work.

I have on both formats needless to say the CD is gathering dust and sounds dense and crude against the vinyl version which I love.

Happy listening to this great great album!!

No, it has a 1948 recording from the London Phil.

I really bought this set to get the Concertbouw performances of the 7th which many rave about. Frankly though I still prefer the Kleiber Jnr recordings of the 5th and 7th.

And the Mackarras ones too - before you remind us :-)

Interesting. Let me know if you want a copy of the Concertgebouw 6th - much better in my view.
