New album is getting some good reviews too. Think they are touring .....................

6-Jul

London, UK

O2 Wireless Festival - Sandisk Stage

8-Jul

Liverpool, UK

Liverpool Echo Arena

10-Jul

Leeds, UK

The Irish Centre

11-Jul

Newcastle

Carling Academy 2

I really want to see one of these shows but am West Country based and they are just not working for me at the moment. Would happily travel to London to see them but not as part of a festival line-up.

Looking at their website they are coming back over in August to play the 'V' festivals so hopefully they will add some more indoor shows to that itinerary.

Cheers

Think they would work in a small venue, not convinced they could carry it off on a large stage - hey but watdoino Winker

I think they might be able to carry off a festival crowd - but my money aint leaving my wallet until I get to see them somewhere 'intimate'.

Cheers

Ok, a thread on another forum forced me to listen to the DCC CD, HDCD and original CD release. I chose track 6&9 and it confirmed my original position:

1. The DCC is still my favorite (but OOP and today largely unaffordable)
2. The HDCD played on HDCD mode is surprisingly good
3. Both the DCC and HDCD beat the original CD release by a mile or two.

Just my humble opinion and I recognize that this is only covers CD - for all you Vinyl lovers out there.

Cheers ... Oliver

Agreed however a friend of mine reckons that the best is the Japanese second pressing of the cd. He has heard all the above plus Japanese 1st pressing.

According to him the vocals on the second Japanese pressing sound the best. Never heard one myself.

Hhmmm, interesting. The only Japanese version I have is a mini LP, which is no different in sound. Maybe I'll come across a 1st or 2nd pressing one of these days.

Just to add my 2p. I had the US HDCD copy and replaced it with a standard German early pressing. Euro CDs I often find lacking but in this case the vocals were much better, as described for the Japanese edition. I like it so much that I don't hanker for another.
