Hi Stuart,

I am listening to it for the first time (track 4 playing now) and liking it a lot. Like their first excellent album (Meltemi) the music is powerful and flows without hesitation. You get the feeling that the musicians know clearly what they want and the 'search' element is not there.

Regards,
Haim

Stuart,

I think that Meltemi is a very good start and that Near Gale is definitely worth having too. You can sample them here:

Good. Well deserved after the hassles of the working week...

As recommended to me by Bazz.

I struggle with this album - Bollani's playing seems a bit manic. I shall persevere....

Both on SACD
Many guest musicians on both albums - guest vocals from Lucinda Williams and Linda Ronstadt, with Ron Carter, Roy Hargrove, Ry Cooder, Bruce Cockburn and many more.
