Another expenditure courtesy of the local Naim dealer - always good to visit to discover some new tunes. Is a Woman by Lambchop this time, and very good it is too.

An excellent album and at under a couple of quid, one of the best value ever.

Peter Hammill - 'The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage' at work just before leaving, and am in a room on my own (PRS free).

Just watched/listened to Saint Saens No3. To hear the organ bit the brass nearly blew the cones out. V disappointing.

David Sylvian - Gone To Earth (Disc 1)

"A Little Lovin'" Shelby Lynne. We love this album. One track is becoming a leading contender for first dance at our wedding!

Mark,
Whats it like?
They are remastering most of his albums.

.....
Not as great as 'Brilliant Trees' or 'Secrets of the Beehive', but very good all the same.
Has some brilliant playing by Fripp on it, and not to forget Bill Nelson. Six good songs on the vocal album, plus one Virgin demanded as a single, and some beautifil ambient work on the the second disk (vinyl).
The original vinyl pressings were dreadful in 1985, I know a lot were taken back as there was a huge amount of surface noise. I have the Weatherbox issue which has the complete double (vinyl) album, not sure what is on the current CD issues.

Hi Stuart,
This is the remastered version (with extra tracks) that I have. It only arrived the day before I was coming back to the ship so I haven't listened through the main system, just a downloaded (from CD) version through my ipod/SoundDock. As for content, well I wouldn't say it's as immediately accessible as say "Brilliant Trees" or "Secrets Of The Beehive", but that's no bad thing and I think this will be a "grower". Just finished the first play and it's very good.
Disc 2 playing now - instrumentals. Chill out music!

Mark we wouldn't dream of stopping you!
Just let us do the traditional solo stumble to start! We were just saying that we hope we aren't left shuffling about on our own for too long! A quick burst of MAH moonwalking could be just the icebreaker we need!
Can you believe I spent my 3000th post on this!!

The last throw at good music before the decline! Boy was Phil Collins on form behind the kit though.

....Of course Fill Your Head with Rock didn't lead me directly to Blodwyn Pig (spot the "deliberate" error) ..but reminded me that a Blodwyn track featured on a similar (Island) sampler "Nice Enough To Eat" which cost 14s & 6d on release (which is why so many people seemed to buy it at the time!)
