naim_nymph,
If you are in the mood for AliaVox here is one of their best:

El Cante de la Sibilia was one of the first Jordi Savall discs I got.

Haim
Hello Haim,
I've ordered quite a few AliaVox recently, my collection is growing to over 10 albums when the Postman comes over the next few days... this includes Carlos V of which is a sacd issue (for a couple of quid extra). I don't know if my cdi benefits from the sacd-hybrids, they sound so good anyway with the fine performaces!
Presently playing El Cante de la Sibilia again, this time as i run myself a bubble-bath : )

Van Der Graaf 'The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome' - have really been hammering this the last few days, especially at work. After so many years, I have only just started to like (love) this album.
I missed the rich, if often discordant, qualities of the organ and sax, but Peter Hammill's songwriting is really at his best here, it just does not sound like VDGG. Still, guitar, bass, drums and violin is the lineup for one of my other favourite bands (King Crimson '73-'74), but such a different take on that arrangement.

Have also been istening to this a lot. I always feel this is underrated, being between such amazing albums as 'Stand Up' and 'Aqualung', but it is so easy to listen to, and possibly more rewarding in a understated way.

Not background music, Joe demands your attention and rewards you with journeys nearly-unique within the music industry. Talent and artistry beyond reproach - Civilians was my favorite piece acquired in the year 2007. Still revealing itself to me to this day. Enjoy.
