Markus Stockhausen Live in Bonn - Electric Treasures. With Arild Andersen, Patrice Heral and Vladyslav Sendecki. I am playing it loud as it tells me to on the packaging.

Monkey - Journey to the West - Damon Albarns latest effort

Why didn't I discover this group before: highly pretentious renaissance folk rock with a bit of self indulgence by Ritchie Blackmore; what more could you ask for - it's fantastic.

Candice Night's vocals are almost like Annie Haslam at times and that puts them up with the very best.

and after Blackmoore's Night - I'll try this much recommend set on vinyl

Nigel - not as scary as you might think. In fact quite tuneful and normal. Interesting combination of sax, guitar and trombone - no bass or drums. Recorded way back in 87 and just rereleased.

Here's a review for you.

Thanks for the review Adrian - didn't know Zorn did "tuneful"! I bought one of those HatArt rereleases (the Matthew Shipp one) a couple of weeks ago, and had to take it back, it was such hard going.

Regards
Nigel

If you want to try real tuneful Zorn , try this one out. Reminds me so much of living in Sydney on sunny days by the pool. Oh well. A really good disc.

Interesting. Exactly my feelings, when I saw this post, Adrian: Must be - uhm - challenging...

Obviously, both drood and myself were wrong..

Myself: Escelator Over the Hill
(a small mini series of my Bley pieces, inspired by buying her newest, last week)

cheers
Stefan
