Bit of nostalgia [must get the Tom Lehrer out next!] and some songs from my childhood!
The Beatles/1967-1970, disc one.
Why do people complain about the remasterings? Seem to be a fair presentation of these by now rather old tape recordings to me!
Great memories revived!! George
And just finished the second disc!

After
(which is to the usual Micus standards)
my other weekend purchase:
very old, very free, very good. One of the legendary MPS recordings, this one from 1967. Remastered in a breathtaking way (Rudy, let them teach you something...). Not always easily digestble, but a real gem in terms of capturing the late sixty time.

I have been considering getting this. It almost looks like it could be an early ECM album.

Not at all, Adrian. But give it a try, if you want. Different, but inspiring.
All in all: Contrast Program to ECM, I'd say...

A fine album, and a rare outing for Charles Tolliver as band leader.

A part of the andante con moto from the op.100 is presently being used to advertise perfume on a television commercial....
It's a fascinating tune, i wonder what the scent is like?
Lucky they didn't use 'The Trout'! : )
