I've been listening to music rather than sleeping. I am rather enjoying my new little music room

Pretty much - a couple of pictures, such as my signed Roger Waters poster suffered broken glass. The most annoying thing is that I am missing one shelf support hook for my CD shelving. Let's hope it turns up somewhere in the many boxes still left to unpack.

Cheers

Pleased you are enjoying it, as I continue to. Should have access to several downloadable live shows of Bret sittin' in with Jerry J in a few weeks.

McMurrian, eh, another Portlander, you sure you don't live around here somewhere Winker Don't know his music but will try to check it out, I am familiar with the harp player he often uses, David Lipkind.

Next time you are at cdbaby, try Kelleigh Mckenzie, I think you might like her. Reared in Oregon but living near Woodstock in NY state. Ethereal vocals and some nice banjo and other string instrument playing.

regards,
Jeff A

Reveal was the last one I liked.

A fine album, and a rare outing for Charles Tolliver as band leader.

New one on me, what kinda music is it?

Nothing fancy-schmancy, Adrian. It dates from 1969, and is comparable with a typical Blue Note session of the same era. But it is very nicely done, and just a little off-centre. I latched onto him after hearing his contribution to Timelines, Andrew Hill's last CD, so I was pleased to see this CD going secondhand in the shop down the road.

Meanwhile, have you heard this yet:

Thanks Nigel - I have it ordered but Amazon have not shipped yet. I look forward to it after the last outing and also cannot wait to hear the new Bobo Stenson.

Cheers

It's OK more of the same really but no worse for that,a couple of good tracks the rest are average + . Like a lot of groups difficult to step out of their formula. I have quite a few of their albums but like most of my music I don't play them a lot.I try and work around my collection.

..and now:-

BTW: IMHO Murmur is still R.E.M.'s best!

A sampler of delightful piano music, at Naxos' usual low price. Warmly recommended.

Jeff thanks for the tip on Kelleigh McKenzie sounds excellent. Just ordered a copy for about £7.

Try those 2 above you may like them.

I used to always look at cdbaby everyday for their new releases but haven't done so for a year or two. Maybe it is time I did start looking again.

Here's some I recommend

Brendan Dwyer
Bret Boyer
Terence Martin
Brady Earnhart
Alexi Murdoch
The Crooked Jades
Kim Beggs
Damien Coen

There are loads of others.

The system is sounding so good to-night, mind you with this voice it isn't difficult IMO.

I'd "lost" this CD but found it today when I had a massive sort out of the collection!

It's like bumping into a long lost friend. Smile
