Amy MacDonald - This is the life. I'm surprised to read a couple of negative comments in this thread about this album as I think it's an absolute stunner.
Brian Wilson - That Lucky Old Sun. He's still got an ear for a wonderful melody and the voice is improving all the time although it's obviously a shadow of its former glory. I can't listen to this (or anything else by him) without wondering what might have been.
Noah and the Whale - Peaceful, the world lays me down. A strange and hard to define mixture of folk, pop, rock and a few other influences but however you classify it there are some amazing tunes and sharp lyrics. They sound a bit like Arcade Fire in places.

Oliver,
How is Hersch's trio? I have two very good albums by him but they are a Solo and a Duo with Bill Frisell.
Regards,
Haim
Haim,
I bought the CD originally not knowing him at all but because it is a Chesky Gold CD. I like this one a lot but have not heard any of his solo work.
Cheers ... Oliver
Thanks for the info, Oliver.
This is a great duo: Songs We Know
